NICK CAVE at the National Library of Australia

“Into My Arms” – the most beautiful opening notes on the piano introduce the emotion and suspence of Nick Cave’s spiritual quest.   I adore this particular song so was enticed to the NLA to see the “Nick Cave – the exhibition”. Peering behind the dramatic curtains and into wall cupboards, the imagination and obsession of the artist is revealed through original notebooks, drawings, photographs and objects. Cave pictured surrounded by mountains of disorderly books, papers, instuments and drawings looks like many a teenager’s bedroom – but the fascination is in the product of this world he created and pursued with vivid imagination and vision.
